ENG: Europe's controlling community meets on April 23/24 in Munich

The International Association of Controllers eV (ICV) invites on April 23/24 to Munich for the largest controlling conference in Europe. Under the motto "Controlling on the Move: questioning - rethinking – mind shift" at the 43rd Controller Congress, 600 domestic and foreign controlling experts, CFOs and managers will discuss current and future challenges in controlling.

Munich, March 15, 2018 – The International Association of Controllers eV (ICV) invites on April 23/24 to Munich for the largest controlling conference in Europe. Under the motto "Controlling on the Move: questioning - rethinking – mind shift" at the 43rd Controller Congress, 600 domestic and foreign controlling experts, CFOs and managers will discuss current and future challenges in controlling.

"Digitalization moves us all and it sets us in motion," writes the patron of the Congress, Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO Deutsche Bahn AG, in his greeting. Short investment cycles, changing customer needs and disruptive business models are placing new demands on the financial function, says Lutz. In complex decision-making situations, companies must always seize new opportunities quickly. For this, they need up-to-the-minute management-relevant data, a new investment logic, willingness to take risks, and freedom for new business models. "It's about a cultural revolution in your head," writes Dr. Lutz, "this is also in the motto of the Congress 2018: 'Controlling on the Move: questioning - rethinking – mind shift.'"

Keynote Speaker at the 43rd Controller Congress is on April 23 Dr. Ralf P. Thomas, CFO of Siemens AG. Among the total of 21 Congress speakers are also prominent top executives such as Eric Perotti, CFO ABB Switzerland Ltd. and Mike Prado, VP and Chief Procurement Officer, StanleyBlack & Decker.

Three parallel thematic clusters this year are dedicated to the areas of " Digital controlling - reorientation of the corporate management", "Controllers & IFRS" and "Sales Controlling".

3 candidates nominated for the ICV Controlling Excellence Award

On the opening day, the prestigious "ICV Controlling Excellence Award" will be presented. Nominated for winners are the Brau Union Austria AG, Linz, with the project: "KPI Framework in the Supply Chain of the Brau Union Österreich AG", Robert Bosch GmbH, Powertrain Solutions Division (Diesel Systems), Stuttgart (Feuerbach): "Big Data-Based Approach to Optimizing Net Working Capital at Bosch / Diesel Systems" and the Verband der Ersatzkassen e. V. (vdek), Berlin, with the project: "National Health Insurance Planning Tool as Controlling Solution of the vdek for Planning of the Financial Development in the Legal Health Insurance".

The Award is presented by the Jury Chairman and Chairman of the ICV Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weber, Director of the Institute for Management and Controlling (IMC) at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, April 23, 9:50. Afterwards, the winner presents the solution in plenary.
