Congress of Controllers: Expert conference for the controlling community on April 26/27, 2021

Due to the corona pandemic, the 45th Congress of Controllers takes place not in April 2020 but in April 2021. In an interview with Peter Bluhm from the "Performance Manager Podcast", Prof. Dr. Heimo Losbichler, Chairman of the ICV, and Matthias von Daacke, Vice-Chairman of the ICV, give insights into the background, consequences and further planning. At the 2021 Congress of Controllers for example, the focus should be on performance management, digitization, new work, recovery and restart.

Foreword by Dr. Richard Lutz for the 45th Congress of Controllers 2020 (CANCELED)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Standardization, automation and artificial intelligence determine the business world and also find their way into the working world of controllers. In the context of rapidly changing markets and the diverse possibilities of digitization, roles, expectations and competence profiles are changing.

One thing is clear: the digital transformation opens up great opportunities - and controllers have long been part of it. With their customer orientation, business understanding, methodological knowledge and modern tools, controllers provide management-relevant information, promptly and at all levels. The controllers of tomorrow are in demand as navigators in troubled waters, partners in business and managers of change.

"For a better performance" fits perfectly as motto for the 45th Congress of Controllers in Munich. Let us reflect together on our experiences and the possibilities of digitization! Where do we see best practices, what are the challenges and on which questions can we possibly not find any answers yet?

I am looking forward to inspiring impulses, exciting discussions and of course personal exchanges at the 45th Congress of Controllers.

Sincerely,

Dr. Richard Lutz
Chairman, Deutsche Bahn AG
Member of the ICV Board of Trustees
Patron of the Congress of Controllers
