The ICV Newcomer Award

Dear professors,

Dear authors of theses,

 

the International Association of Controllers (ICV) is once again inviting submissions for the “ICV Newcomer Award”.

The aim of the ICV Newcomer Awards is to promote young academic controllers and to transfer innovative and practicable ideas from university to controlling practice and thus make them accessible to a broad controller community.

Three master theses or outstanding bachelor theses that address both controlling innovations and classic controlling topics in application are awarded. In addition, it is desired that the authors of the submitted work deal with the basic positions of the ICV and their critical discussion.

Papers submitted at any European University after April 30, 2022 are accepted for this award.

Both the supervising professors and the authors of the theses are entitled to submit theses for the ICV Newcomer Award 2024. We would like to cordially invite you to submit award-worthy works with the complete application documents to us. The submission deadline is May 15, 2024. The work submitted can cover the entire spectrum of controlling and be written in German or English.

The jury consists of management accounting practitioners and university representatives and its final decision will be based on a combination of scientific value, degree of innovation and the deductibility of implications for the practice of management accounting.

The total award of the ICV Newcomer Award is EUR 4,000, sponsored by Haufe and the Haufe Akademie. In addition, all prize winners will receive one year’s free membership with the International Association of Controllers (ICV) which also includes a subscription to the Controller Magazin (delivery only in German-speaking area).

The Award ceremony for the ICV Newcomer Award takes place at the ICV Autumn Conference CIS Controlling Insights Steyr. We would like the Award Winners to make their work available to a broad audience with their supervising professors for the various ICV media.
