On November 25, 2014, the International Association of Controllers (ICV) established the expert work group "Valuation - Interface Controlling / Accounting". The importance of valuation topics for controlling practice is steadily increasing; questions of the classic company valuation are presented, in particular, within the framework of participatory controlling and the acquisition or sale of companies or business areas.

The expert work group will also deal with topics in which the controllers are actively involved, such as the valuation of real estate, intangible assets or individual assets and liabilities as part of M & A activities.

The head of the expert work group is Stefanos Karagiannidis, auditor / tax consultant and shareholder of the WirtschaftsTreuhand GmbH in Stuttgart, which also contributes to the work of the IOCV as a member of the company. Mr. Karagiannnidis is a Certified Valuation Analyst (EACVA) as well as Adviser for Restructuring and Insolvency Administration. In his daily practice he deals with business valuation as well as restructuring advice in addition to the traditional tax consulting and auditing topics.
