NEWSLETTER OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONTROLLING COMMUNITY Wednesday, 13.12.2017

Hello,

2017 is still coming to its end. It was an eventful & successful year for the International Association of Controllers (ICV).

We've just experienced a highlight: 60 ICV executives from 11 countries constructively worked together on future topics during the ICV Management Conference in Munich on November 25. With its international conference the ICV took an important development step: For the first time, a meeting of the ICV executives was conducted entirely in English. It offered opportunities to get to know each other better, to network, to exchange opinions and experiences. During workshops, the participants developed solutions for urgent tasks. The ICV-ControllingBlog reports about it (photo: participants of the conference).

We wish you Happy Holidays & a successful New Year!

CAPITAL MARKETS OUTLOOK 2018

Deceptive calm coming to an end?
The global economy should post consistently solid growth in 2018 and US monetary policy should gradually return to normal. In its Capital Markets Outlook 2018 published in Frankfurt, Deutsche Bank’s capital markets experts point out that there are nevertheless potential economic perils, especially of inflation rising too rapidly. “If the price pressure should climb faster than expected, the central banks could see themselves compelled to make a more aggressive exit from their continuing expansionary monetary policy – with correspondingly negative repercussions for the global economy,” said Stefan Schneider, Chief German Economist at Deutsche Bank Research. 2018 will therefore be characterized by two market-defining factors: on the one hand, the strong global economy, and on the other, the central banks which will have to achieve a cautious transition to a less expansionary monetary policy.
