ENG: Prof. Dr. Heimo Losbichler is the new Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Controllers

FH-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Heimo Losbichler (52) from Steyr in Upper Austria is the new Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Controllers (ICV). He succeeds Siegfried Gänßlen (72) from Stuttgart, who held this honorary position since May 2007. New Vice Chairman of the ICV is Matthias von Daacke (49) of Blanco GmbH & Co. KG in Oberderdingen in Kraichgau.

Munich, 23.04.2018– FH-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Heimo Losbichler (52) from Steyr in Upper Austria is the new Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Controllers (ICV). He succeeds Siegfried Gänßlen (72) from Stuttgart, who held this honorary position since May 2007. New Vice Chairman of the ICV is Matthias von Daacke (49) of Blanco GmbH & Co. KG in Oberderdingen in Kraichgau.

Siegfried Gänßlen, former CEO of Hansgrohe SE for many years, will continue to serve as a member of the ICV Board of Directors. With the change at the top, the Board sets the course for the further development of the Association, in which new elections for the Board are scheduled for 2020. Heimo Losbichler, the new Chairman of the Board, can prepare further staffing proposals in an orderly and far-sighted way. Continuity of successful work of the Association shall be maintained.

Heimo Losbichler is Program Director Controlling, Accounting & Financial Management at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Professor at Clarkson University, New York, and holds other executive and advisory functions. Losbichler had studied automotive and engine construction as well as computer science before starting a doctorate at the Vienna University of Technology at the Institute of Industrial and Business Administration. He then worked in companies for six years: in Group Controlling & Information Management at Austrian Industries AG, as a Head of Group Controlling / Information Management at Maculan Holding AG and as a Managing Director of their IT system house BDT GmbH.

Heimo Losbichler has been a member of the ICV since 1996, led a regional work group in Austria for several years, then co-ordinated the Austrian ICV networks as Regional Delegate Austria. In 2005, Losbichler was elected an ICV Board Member, where he most recently worked successfully as a Vice Chairman with Siegfried Gänßlen. As organizer and director of the renowned "Controlling Insights Steyr - CIS", he played a key role in the rise of CIS to become the leading controlling conference in Austria with a high status in the European controlling community. Since 2011, Losbichler has chaired the Management Board of the International Group of Controlling (IGC).

The outgoing ICV Chairman Siegfried Gänßlen has been involved in the ICV for over 30 years on a voluntary basis. He has gained great merit especially in the professionalization, internationalization of the Association and the development of the ICV expert work groups. Born in Stuttgart, he headed the regional ICV work group "Südwest" in the Stuttgart / Black Forest area for several years, until in 2000 he became Board Member of the ICV and in 2004 Vice Chairman of the Board. Since May 2007 Gänßlen was Chairman of the ICV Board.

In his professional career Gänßlen was controller and kfm. Head or Managing Director of various companies. From 1994 to 1999 he was Managing Director Controlling, Finance and Human Resources at Hansgrohe GmbH & Co.KG. After conversion into an AG, since 1999 he was Vice Chairman of the Board and CFO and responsible for the strategic business areas America, Middle East, Africa and India. Since May 2008, Gänßlen has been Chairman of the Board of Hansgrohe AG, later Hansgrohe SE, in Schiltach. In 2014 he had passed the presidency to his successor, as planned. Until May 2015, he then acted as International Executive Advisor advising the CEO of Masco Corporation, which has a majority stake in Hansgrohe SE.

Matthias von Daacke will be replacing Heimo Losbichler as the new Vice Chairman of the ICV. Matthias von Daacke is by profession Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Precision Engineering and Business Administration (VWA). He is Director of Controlling, Blanco Group, Board Member / Director of BLANCO Seramik, BLANCO Canada, BLANCO China. Before that, Matthias von Daacke worked for 11 years as a Manager & Controller in the automotive industry, including three and a half years as General Manager in the USA. He has been an ICV member since 1993 and was involved in various projects. in the regional ICV work groups Berlin-Brandenburg (Head 2000-2002) and Berlin, in 2009 he founded the ICV work group Rhein-Neckar, which he led until 2015, before he was elected a member of the ICV Board.

The International Association of Controllers (ICV) has in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and 12 other countries in Central and Eastern Europe around 6,500 in practical Controlling active members. The key objective of ICV controlling philosophy is reaching permanent economic success. With its honorary chairman Dr. Albrecht Deyhle the association, founded in 1975 has shaped the Controlling in German speaking countries placed and influenced. The ICV merges controllers, CFOs, managers and scientists and  it is strictly oriented its members’ benefit.
