More than 80 managers and experts in finance & controlling as well as interested non-controllers in senior management positions in the Sino-German economy attended the Sino German Controlling Forum in Suzhou near Shanghai on September 7, 2018. The motto of this year's forum was "Controlling for Sustainability". The event provided a good platform for sharing knowledge, information and experiences between controllers and non-controllers interested in how to combine economic, environmental and social aspects of corporate governance in China.

The keynote speakers were Mr. Carsten Arntz, Head of Finance at SAIC Volkswagen and Mr. Alexander Tobert, CFO of Kern Liebers China. Six separate workshops offered the participants the opportunity to discuss the issues of sustainable corporate governance and controlling. In addition to some workshops on classical topics of controlling, such as production / project / cost controlling and planning & budgeting, there were also workshops on specific issues, such as environmental compliance and Cyber Security Law in China. In the afternoon, Mr. Francesco Ingarsia, CFO of Schaeffler Greater China and head of the ICV Work Group East China, presented the audience some results from the ICV studies on Green Controlling in German-speaking countries and gave some ideas for the further development of controlling for sustainability in China.

The 6th edition of the Chinese-German Controlling Forum was jointly organized by Shanghai De Chen Enterprise Management Consulting Co. Ltd. and the German Foreign Trade Chamber Shanghai. It was supported by the International Association of Controllers (ICV) and CA Controller Akademie of Germany as well as the Taicang Round Table TRT, DUSA European Association Suzhou and Changzhou International Manager Forum. Schaaffler Greater China, Kern Liebers China and Dorsey & Whitney LLP were official sponsoring partners of the event.
