  1. What is the most important message of your lecture in general?
    Hotter: To be successful (or more dramatic: to survive) as a company in the future we have to create an environment that encourages curiosity and where all of us learn & teach, share & connect knowledge.
  1. What is the most important message of your lecture for people who work in the area of controlling?
    Hotter: The future of Controlling is T-shaped – capable in a lot of things and expert in some of them. A successful implementation of concepts like business partnering and agile organizations necessarily requires that. A new learning environment will strongly support to get there.
  1. What are the most important skills for people who work in the area of controlling – today, next year and in 10 years?
    Hotter: Today:  communication & still some finance / tool expertise
    Next year:  Learning to learn, open mind,  digital skills
    In 10 years: Learning & T-shape

70 full time Controlling employees (total group: ~200 FTE) perform Controlling processes like Planning, Standard reporting, Ad-hoc reporting/ Business partner response, Business analysis and development, Business Case Calculation, Cost Accounting, Profitability/Margin Calculation, Master data admin, Standard governance & Special Processes. 

The current Controlling focus is to shift resources towards business partnering activities, digitize processes & utilize the wealth of data. Business partnering activities count already more than 50% of the daily Controller business.
