Self-Image of Work Group UK

  • This work group is a professional forum aimed at promoting best practice in helping organisations achieve their financial and strategic goals through “Controlling”.
  • Controlling focuses on establishing benchmarks or standards, comparing actual performance against them and identifying and taking corrective action if required.
  • The work group aims at controllers, management accountants, financial analysts, finance managers, CFOs, and all those who want to understand and learn the concept and philosophy of Controlling, and are interested in professional exchange of experiences.

How it works:

  • The focus is to develop together useful results for the practice rather than to present “ready recipes”. This does not exclude presentation of successful solutions by external experts.
  • It takes time to work in groups, discuss and develop the practical solutions. Therefore the meetings should last ideally 11/2 days.
  • The work group should meet at least twice a year (spring and autumn meeting). The meetings are planned one year in advance. All work group members decide on the topic for the following event which is to be prepared by a group of the members.
  • The meetings should be organised at different venues. They can be hosted also by a company. One member in the work group is responsible to find the venue and coordinate with the other work group members.
